  We've never stayed in Ballina before as we have always gone for the brand names of Byron Bay and Lennox Head. Wow, were we surprised after staying a week at Viewpoint! The house has been tastefully furnished, the beds are super comfortable and the owners have thought of absolutely everything one could need whilst on a holiday. Viewpoint's location is directly across the road from the northern end of Shelly Beach and it has uninterrupted views of the ocean from Black Head in the north to North Wall in the south. We lost count of the amount of whales we saw from the large sun-drenched balcony. The sunrises and sunsets we witnessed from the property during our stay were out of this world! Directly across the road from the property is a bike and walking track that meanders along the coastline all the way out to Lennox Head or goes out along North Wall hugging the Richmond River all the way into to Ballina's town centre. A 5-minute stroll down the road is a fantastic cafe called the Belle General (food is AMAZING!) and if you needed to go to Lennox Head (7 mins) or Byron Bay (20 mins) they are easily accessible by a short car trip. Viewpoint is a true hidden gem that is worlds away from the hustle and bustle of other Far North Coast beachside towns. In all honesty, we will find it hard to stay anywhere else when visiting the Northern Rivers again!
